Im finally back to the studio after a week’s rest at home for CNY!  I’ve never been back at home for so long.  Last year, i only had 3 days and it was terrible leaving home when all my family members are still having their holiday moods at home…  Geez..  Well tis year, i really had all the time at home till my parents and all other relatives starts work, and then BACK to the studio again. 

CNY eve was a great one!  Fourteen of us squeezed at the dinner table with LOTs of food to eat and lots of noise…  I ate very little but the food tasted great becoz everyone was so happy.  All my aunties and my dad prepared the meal throughout the whole afternoon but in just a short period, our reunion dinner ended!  hahaha.. tough job.

But on the first day of CNY, i fell sick I had fever and it was terrible.  Whole body aching…  Mum gave me painkiller 3 times, perspired and luckily got well the next morning!  Felt energetic and im ready to celebrate CNY again.  Although i missed out some fun on the 1st day but well, never mind…  Oh yes, i remember something, Wonder how i got off the bed and enjoyed fireworks and then back to bed again :S haha.. weird..

Ok. gotta stop writing.  Need to collect my Bob from the pet shop.  He has got lots of entangled fur so he desperately needs a shave..

wonder how he looks like now… i think he looks like a lamb now.. hehehe..

Oh yes, i didnt take any photos this CNY, but i do have a photo i took when i was … erm, i dunno how old was i.. if u can guess.. heheh.. and another one taken with my cousin, YEN.   cute leh~~~

首先,我要注八度空間 "生日快樂"!!  四歲了..  我們大家一起成長,一起學習..  在這裡我希望八度空間會越做越好!

I was back to attend and perform for this special celebration.  It was a concert held in 1 Utama, performed by all 八度空間’s artiste.  I sang 全世界都知道.  I specially arranged Leslie and Zero to help me play the acoustic version of this song, as a birthday present to 八度空間, hopefully a superb show from me.  I liked this version very very much.  Thanks to Leslie and Zero!  I hope all Dizzies will like it too. 

I was back earlier to choreograph 4 songs with Mei Sim and Orange.  Four beautiful songs sang by 3 pretty ladies with angelic voices.. Can you imagine?? hahaha..  And to my surprise, our voices do blend!  Perfectly!  I really enjoyed doing the medley with them.  We weren’t afraid of the stage, the lightings and the people!  Instead, we took over the stage and enjoyed the audiences. 

Lots and lots of Dizzies were present too…  I sincerely wanna thank you all for attending the concert and of course giving me all the support i needed!  Thanks for the flowers and presents and letters.. I appreciate it a lot!!  Without you guys, i guess i wouldn’t have enjoyed the stage soooo much.. THANK YOU!!

** oh yes, would like to thank all dizzies who were present during 週六吵葚麼.. And also to Calvin..  So funny.. **

It’s been a year since i released my xmas singles "our christmas"..  Sang a few times too this year for quite a  few shows.  The feelings of christmas is just sooo strong..  i love christmas..  i love preparing for christmas..  it starts with decorating our christmas tree in the studio, although it’s only a 3feet tall little tree, but when it’s decorated and lit up, it’s perfectly beautiful… 

This year, i spent my christmas with my son, Bob with his two other buddies, Rain and Silky.  So there were only 4 of us (Kenn, Jon, Dotz and Me) with 3 little doggies..  This is my first time celebrating with them and i think it’s so special, and warm.. It’s Bob and Rain’s 1st meeting with Silky.  Silky is Jon’s 10 yr old silky terrier.  We call her "lao zha bo" (old woman) becoz she’s really old edi.. haha.. But Jon keep saying "eh please!  She’s ‘lao chio bu’ (old hot lady)!" hahahaha…. 10 yrs old silky is like a 50 yrs old woman.  So we call her Auntie Silky.. ;) 

Bob likes her a lot.. Keep chasing her wanting to play with her, but Silky was more human oriented, like human more than dogs.. So Bob’s playfulness made Silky irritated, barked at Bob!! hahaha.. But seriously, Silky is really so adorable.  She sat beside me, watching TV as i comb her hair.  She really liked it a lot!  I think Jon did not comb her hair for a long time!! poor silky. Rain as usual, play for awhile, then lie on the floor watching them play.. He is sooo lazy….

I bought presents for the 3 of them.  Bob and Rain has a pendant with their names carved on it and Silky has a brand new set of collar and latch.  so happy to see them playing around the house and sitting comfortably with us on the couch. 

We had very different food on the table this christmas.  Normally we would have turkey?  ham?  But well, this year we had cravings for CHILLI CRAB!!  hahaha.. we bought baguette from delifrance to dip the gravy from the chilli crab and it’s really delicious!  we also had cockles and satay.. geez.. different types of ‘unhealthy food’ but well..  it’s xmas… 

Time passes very quickly.  It was time to rest becoz we gotta travel to KL and Kuantan the next day (which is the actual day of xmas). Haiz…  wat a day..  but well, i’ve got no choice, i gotta work right?  okok.. think of the money.. hahahaha… 

it was Dunhill’s 100 yrs of celebration.  There were celebrations in several states and so i was performing for Kuantan and KL.  The organizers did not communicate properly regarding my songs selection, thus made me changed a lot of songs in the end, right before my performances.  Geezes…  I’m NOT a JUKEBOX!!  I need mmos, i need to memorize lyrics!  I was so panicked.  i was furious..  How could they do tat?  last minute change of songs, AND also my outfits!  luckily i prepared 4 sets of clothes to Kuantan, JUST IN CASE!  everything is so so so last minute. 

This is really my worse experience of performing.  i really hope there is no 2nd time…  Haiz.. It’s not easy, but well, at least it’s over..  In peace now.. at least, that im back in S’pore.  Seeing my son reduces my stress in 1/2.  the power of bobby and rain.. hahaha…

Merry Christmas.. 

First of all, I would like to wish Malaysia, my country, a very haPPy bIrthday……  !!!  Achieving 50 yrs of independence, it’s not easy to maintain, or even catch up with other more developed countries such as the United States, Japan etc..   

BUT, We have seen how our ministers worked so hard to make Malaysia a beautiful place to live in.  People of many different races live together, no matter how different our languages are, we just can live in harmony.  Despite some negative issues that we often talk about where racial harmony is, we still defend our own country because we simply love staying here. 

There’s a lot of cultural values we don’t find in other countries and we grew up in this culture.  I enjoyed my kampung days when i was still a kiddo, when my grandmother plants vegetables and rear kampung chickens.  (oh how i miss my ah-po<granny>, miss u lotsssss)..  And you know wat, i even treated one of the hens my pet!  Coz it’s incredible she would come to me when i call out her name "beauty".. ahaha… 

I had a lot of kampung neighbour friends, a mixed of chinese, malay and indian friends.  We played a lot of games like the 5 stones, congkak, and other lower cost games like blindfold, jumping over rope made with rubber bands (i dunno how should i name it, but we called it "tiao shen" in mandarin) and also "cooking cooking" using sand and grass as food. cute right? hehe.. 

And when i was in primary school, i had a lot of close classmates too.  Of different races too.  Oh and becoz our school is just beside the school for deaf and mute, we made friends with some of them too.  And till now, we still contact each other!  Amazing right?  Erm, i do not know sign languages, but they taught me sign language for alphabets from A to Z.  And i still remember how to do it!  hehehe…  so proud!

Every Sunday, my mum would come to pick me up from school (during my time, sunday is a weekday and friday is a weekend).  She would very often bring me to lunch in my favourite places like MCDonald’s, and Swensens, despite her tight pockets, and buy me my favourite food like Cheese Burger from MCD’s and Spaggeti Bolognaise from Swensens.  Geez…  So sweet~~~   Mummy i love u..

Oh well, it sounded like mother’s day now.. wahahahhaa…  Ok then.  What i wanted to say is, i love my country, i love my hometown, and i love my family and friends.  You are all my sweetest memory~  Love you all… and my Dizzies too.. Lots of you made from Malaysia.  hahahahha… 

Once again, HAPPY MERDEKA DAY everyone!!

U know wat is efficiency??  This is it…  ta da~~~~  look at the flooring….. 

Before this, it was all carpet.. and remember?  drenched carpet…  And in only 2 days, everything is done!  Infact, the renovation just lasted for a day.. oh no.. it’s HALF a day…  it was fast!!

a day b4 renovation, all of us packed up all stuffs in the studio, including Dotz’s office, media room and the walkway.  Then the next day renovation starts.. in half a day, done!  And then we took about 2-3 hours to unpack and clean the whole place…..  And now, we are all so very comfortable with our working environment..  Barefooted..  Clean, bright, and beautiful… 

Hmmm.. i just love this place…  :)  It’s worth all my energy to sweat it all out… 

2days ago, 5th floor of this building caught fire and a lot of us were affected!  We in Tiny Box Studios of course, directly beneath this tenant, were affected!!  Luckily we were not in the studio at that point of time. 

When we arrived, we were all shocked to see a few fire engines and police cars outside.  Everyone seemed panicked, especially the building’s management, Jeannie.  Poor thing…… 

Of course we were also panicked, but Jeannie said everything’s fine already, only left with 6000litres of water from their sprinkler to drain out!!!!  GOSH!  That’s a lot!  Anyway she said it’s safe to go in to our studio to see, so we made our way up hoped that everything is fine….

But as we make our way in to our studio, we found out we were affected by the water!!  Water were gushing down from the ceiling in the media room and there was this burning smell from above.  Everyone panicked and hoped that all equipments are safe.  And thank god, all the important equipments in the studio were not affected…   PHEW~~  (coz that’s a lot of money man!) 

However, the media library was drowned with at least 4 - 5 pails of water!  Carpet drenched, lots of magazines drenched too, and 1 part of the false ceiling gave way…  This is how it looks like —>   

It was a scary moment but we were more worried bout the equipments…  So we stayed awhile to make sure that there will be no water flowing in to the recording studio and arrangement room. 

And there goes my recording session for that day. Hopefully there will be no more such incidents..  Oh by the way, all these were caused by the tenant’s fridge!  hahaha…  Pray for me everyone.. And good luck for my recordings today … 

我發現我的華語退步了…  為甚麼會這樣!!!

我覺得啊…  最近都一直在用英文交談.  也因為我的專輯而一直在參考英文歌曲…  有時候會發現我的口音越來越"巴沙"了..  Flat Flat 的!!  有時候再老師們面前很丟臉..  還因此警告我要把最基本的口音給練好!

不行!  我要從今天起, 開始練好我的發音…  可是製作班底和工作人員都很忙..  怎麼會有時間和我玩廣播據呢?  咳……   沒關係!  我還會有辦法!  你們才得到我會用甚麼方式嗎?

那就是…..  看台灣偶像劇咯..  (才對沒獎.. 不好意思)

其實看台灣偶像劇除了可以練好口音還可以學習怎麼利用一些我從來沒有聽過或用過的字.  (還可以娛樂自己呢, 哈哈)!  其實不只是看而已哦!  我還得自己對這鏡子說話, 或再睡前自己對話.  很噁心吧!  可是就只有這樣子啊.  況且老師們的華語都很標準.  如果我的口音Flat Flat的, 會顯得我很突出. 

不說了..  要練歌…  祝我錄音成功!  :)  加油加油!! 

這是我的工作室..

今天剛買了力宏的最新專輯 "改變自己".  很多很不同的曲風.  發現他在這張專輯裡很搞怪. PATTERN 很多!! 哈哈…  本身很喜歡落葉歸根. 雖然不是力宏親自動筆寫的, 可是他演藝得很棒!  這首歌的Melody雖然有點老, 就有點像望清水 (哈哈), verse第一句的melody也很像Kiss Goodbye, 可是我還是超喜歡這首歌, 讓我聽了又想在聽..

改變自己的groove和編曲我非常非常喜歡..  80’s rock的編曲讓我一直很想跟著節拍一起搖擺一起唱!  會很high…  有說過這張專輯力宏有很多的pattern.  這首歌不完整的旋律的idea很好.  詞也寫的很有意思..  人嘛, 總是不完整, 更何況是愛情…

其它的歌曲就有你們來說吧..  If i were to rate this album, i will give it a 5 star!  :)

It’s a sunny but beautiful Saturday…  I have this craving to go for shopping today but Im scheduled to have my recordings today.  However, since recordings will start late, i got my sound engineer, Dotz to go BUGIS Shopping Centre with me. 

I wanted to get Lee Hom’s latest album <改變自己> for my "LEE HOM CD COLLECTION"..  BUT to my dissapointment, there were no CD shops at all in BUGIS.  There is 1 though, BUT they have only CHINA IMPORTS!  I also got to know that a lot of record stores close down in Malaysia (maybe in Singapore too) becoz sales are just tat BAD!  This is happening now and i felt that we are losing the music industry slowly..  It’s really scary.. I ain’t know how to react to this!  But i really do feel dissapointed and afraid ..

As you guys know, Lee Hom is my idol.. Christina Aguilera is my idol.  I really do think that it’s my responsibility to get their album becoz as a fan of theirs, i wan to see them continue doing wat they are doing now.  When the buying stops, our idol STOPS too.   

And becoz there are no buying of originals, this world will be "MUSIC-LESS"!  I cannot imagine that.  So, please…  Support original albums and support your idol.  That’s the least AND best we can do to keep the music industry going… 

Please forgive me if im being too long winded.  But i am too stressed out and angry with the fact that there are irresponsible ppl out there!

It’s been so much fun in Singapore! I do have a very wide job-scope I think. From recordings to songwritings to helping out in the school (Tiny Box Artiste Academy) to buying takeaways for all the laoshi (producers) and the recording team, I have not had so much to do! My schedules are quite hectic but I am definitely enjoying it!

After all the trainings on my singing and songwriting, I finally sold my very first piece to an international artiste. That was one of my very first few pieces and I definitely liked it very much. This is a good start for me and I guess there are more to come.

Oh yes, did I tell you my Bobby is always around me? Well, yes he is. He is always there for me when I need a shoulder.. Erm, his shoulder may be a little small but I still can count on him when I need to distress. Here’s a pictures of me and him on my bed @ my loft.
